Young Possum out in the daylight...

This is a young Australian Possum. He was eating something on the ground until I came closer. It is very UNUSUAL to see a Possum during the day. They are nocturnal animals, which means they sleep in the day and wander/eat at night.

It's so good to live in a country where we can see such animals! Great moment of luck, great shot!

To Helen, Jose and Pinkye,
I will answer you all together and thank you for your lovely comments, as I wish to say the same thing. As I said it is rare to see them during the day, but here, if you live in a bushy area as I do, you can feed them at night. I stopped doing this as if they remain too close to the house, they do leave behind an odour after a while.

They used to climb up my dressing gown, waiting to get more food. (Then I was not into photography).
